Seven_Ways_ to_Break_a_Health_Care_System
1. Give free health care to any person who shows up at the hospital. Don’t concern yourself with whether they legal or illegal immigrants or whether they have the means to pay. Just spread the cost to those who have health insurance. 2. If the health conditions of a group of employees at a company are poor, charge exorbitant rates for their health insurance. Punish that group with high premiums rather than comparing them with the population as a whole. 3. Give lawyers the ability to sue health care providers for unlimited amounts of money. After all, we must punish those providers beyond all reason. 4. If a person cannot afford a qualified high deductible health plan, don’t let them open a Health Savings Account at their local bank. We wouldn’t want to encourage them to take care of their own health care expenses, even if they cannot afford to purchase the insurance plan. 5. If a person is over-weight, has diabetes, or other health issues, deny them the right to purchase insurance. After all, it is better to have them uninsured than to offer insurance to people who really need it. 6. Make a rule that says that if you don’t purchase creditable coverage within 63 days of losing your previous coverage that you lose your pre-existing conditions coverage on the new policy. After all, 63 days is long enough for anyone, regardless of the circumstances. 7. Don’t pay for preventive procedures and diagnostics since doing that might catch some illness before it becomes serious. These are just a few of the problems that pop into my head.
